Sandy’s Toll House Cookie Pan

My big sister, Sandy (Chino Valley, AZ), has supplied me with many good recipes - I began to make this one for the boys' birthdays instead of cakes. Much easier to decorate!

2 ¼ C flour
1 C soft shortening
¾ C brown sugar
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
¾ C sugar
2 eggs
2 C chocolate chips
1 tsp vanilla
1 C nuts, optional
• In a medium bowl, mix dry ingredients together.
• In a large bowl, mix shortening, sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla. Beat until creamy and add eggs.
• Gradually add dry ingredients. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts.
• Spread in 15x10x1" pan.
• Bake at 375° for 20 minutes.
