The Hunger Games

Thanks to Letitia Daugherty for one of the most concise book talks I've received. It's nice to have really short, really good ones when you are book talking a lot of books and have little time.

How much do you love your family?  Would you take their place in a deadly game?  That is exactly what Katniss Everdeen did in The Hunger Games.  Katniss lives with her mother and sister, Primrose, in District 12.  The Capitol controls the districts by selecting one boy and one girl from each district to participate in The Hunger Games where the tribunes fight to their death.  When Primrose is selected as a tribune, Katniss boldly takes her sisters place.  Only to find that she will be competing against her best friend, Peeta.  Will Katniss survive the Hunger Games?  Will she be forced to kill Peeta?  Read The Hunger Games to find out Katniss’s fate.
